Eighteen-year-old Ericka Vermin, a beauteous senior high school student of Dr. Vicente F. Gustilo Memorial National High School (Dr. VFGMNHS), was adjudged as “Dinagsa Queen 2020”during the pageant and coronation night held at Cadiz Arena last January 23, 2020. She received a cash prize of P40,000 with a sash and trophy, P10,000 worth of salon service and products from AZTA Urban Salon owned by Valerie Escalante.
The newly-crowned Dinagsa Queen 2020, who stands 5 feet and 4 inches tall, also captured three special awards: the Best in Production Number, Best in Swimwear/ Sexy Suit and Best in Casual Modern Filipina. She received cash incentives of P13,000, bouquets and trophies for the three minor awards.
“A true Dinagsa Queen is a woman of vision and driven by passion. Has the character, a critical thinker, a communicator, and above all a Christ-centered. A woman who can promote Cadiz not just nationally but globally and that I believe I deserve to wear the crown tonight”, Ericka’s answer when she was asked on how to become a productive citizen of Cadiz City.
She also took away 12 corporate awards. These include the Ms. Caytre, Ms. Pasaboy Ambassadress, Ms. Skin Essential, Ms. Personal Collection (Sagay & Escalante Branch), Ms. DTX 500, Ms. Kristine’s/ Sara’s Closet, Ms. Centro Department Store, Ms. Jemuel’s Food Supply, Ms. Skin Reborn Essential, Ms. Astonish Skin, Ms. Express Pay and Ms. Villa Antonella Subd.
Ericka is the only girl among 3 children whose father Antonio died when she was two years old and her mother Sheryl Vermin, a domestic helper in Cavite. She acknowledged her mentors and the team who trained and supported her from social media to grooming, character, personality development, and speech improvement, that made her win the title.
She realized that winning the crown gives her a good platform to inspire others and to have a voice in things which are necessary for everyone’s welfare. It also boosts her morale and confidence.
Candidate No.4 Alliah Shaina Espanueva, 18, standing 5 feet and 4 inches tall, won the First Runner-up. She has a vital statistics of 32-25-26 and represents the Sicablon 4 & Brgy. Tiglawigan. She received P25,000, a sash, bouquet, trophy and P7,500 from Marley 888 Corporation.
Alliah also took the special award as Best in Talent with P5,000 cash prize, a sash and trophy. She captured 13 corporate awards, namely, Ms. MSE, Ms. Natasha Beauty, Ms. Tingson Beach Resort, Ms. Cadiz City Employees Union, MS. Boardwalk, Ms. Trisha’s Beauty Haven Salon & Spa, Ms. Ardeur De France, Ms. Cadiz City Gov’t Employees & Community Employees Dynamic Multi-purpose Cooperative, Ms. Racing 7 Motor Vehicle Parts/Accessories Shop, Ms. Royale Business Clun International, Ms. Coca-Cola, Ms. Avon, Ms. Skin Lab & Beauty Academy and Ms. Perfect Skin All Natural.
Candidate No. 8 Jayra Aliyah Olvinada was the second runner up. She was 19 years old and brought home P20,000 cash, a sash, a trophy and P7,500 cash from Marley 888 Corp.
Jayra, a representative of Brgy. Zone 2, was chosen as Best in Evening Gown with cash incentive of P5,000, bouquet, trophy and six corporate awards, such as, Ms. Cadiznon Purified Drinking Water, Ms. For Kids Pediatric Clinic, MS. Skin Magical Beauty, Ms. Navsta, Ms. DXR Gasoline, and Ms. Sole Queens.
Katrina Consing, 18, bagged the Miss Congeniality with P3,000, a sash, a bouquet and a trophy. She was named as Ms. Else, MS. Nene’s Catering, MS. Villacin Petron Gasul Station, and Ms. Cadiz Mental Health Ambassadress.
Selwyn Gail Adion, who stands 5’3’’, won the Best in Gown Paint Design and took away P5,000 plus a sash, a bouquet and a trophy. She also acquired the Ms. GZT –Beauty Product Shop, Ms. Ever Felicity, Ms. Personal Collection (La Carlota Branch), Ms. Tiwi’s Flower Arts & Souvenir, and Ms. Sole Queens. She represented Brgy. Tnampaan.
Miss Photogenic was taken by Via Hazel Peregrino, 19 yrs. old of Brgy. Tinampaan who received P3,000 cash with frame from Icon Photography, sash, bouquet and trophy. She was declared Ms. Panemorfi Boutique, Ms. Coffee Boss & Co, and Ms 5 Star Triple M’S Lending Corp.
Other stunning ladies were 19-year-old Joan Berden of Brgy. Bonifacio who was declared Ms. Natasha and Ms. Marayo Bank, while Clarence Albarico of Brgy. Zone 3 got Ms. Jaimely Mae Abunin Fashion Center and Ms. Mary Kay Cadiz.
Twenty-year-old Trixia Marie Cayapado of Brgy. Zone 4 awarded as Ms. Batch 87 DR. VFGMNHS, Ms. Happy Leaf Beach Resort, Ms. Burnt Wood Studio and Ms. Expression; Bianca Vaflor, SK representative of Brgy. Daga, won the Ms. SM Hypermarket; Nichole Kay Corro, 20; and 19-year-old Rochelle May Rebote.
The non-winners were given cash incentives of P3,000.00. The three-hour beauty pageant was directed and choreographed by Randyll Villones and company./*
